If you like art and nature, you might want to become a landscape architect. Pursuing a career in landscape architecture can provide a number of benefits, including the ability to think creatively, use innovative technologies, foster communities, and earn a high salary. Landscape architecture is a profession that combines aspects of design, art, ecology and engineering. Landscape architects, who often work on a large scale, translate their designs for parks and open spaces into engineer-ready plans, taking into account construction costs.
More than artists who represent nature from a single point of view, landscape architects work to create places where humans of all ages can live active and healthy lives in harmony with their natural environment. A common way to describe a career search is to follow your heart, but there are so many things at stake when looking for the right job that it can be difficult not only to follow your heart, but also to move on with the other factors and information involved in making such an important decision. Design is still a great attraction to enter the profession. The broader idea of improving the landscape for people to enjoy, concern for the environment and interest in nature were the second, third and fourth most popular answers.
Environmental science and ecology are at the lower end of the answers. Through each project, landscape architects thoroughly investigate the history of their site and make sure to preserve and craft what should not be left behind. In turn, practicing landscape architects have the same passion for protecting the environment, improving spaces for people and making cities more livable through innovative planning, spaces, renewable energy and green infrastructure. The program introduced us to a wide range of architecture and design programs, and I was attracted to landscape architecture.
Although most members learned about landscape architecture from a school career service (18.2%), college material (16%), or a family member or friend (14.2%), a comparatively large number of students learned about landscape architecture through the firm's website, “I want to be a landscape architect” (17.48%), or through a family member or friend (15.53%). I decided to become a landscape architect because I grew up in a family of engineers, contractors and real estate agents, and I've always liked being close to new designs and workplaces. Both groups are stimulated by the extensive knowledge required and used within the profession, and the fact that so many subjects are united in Landscape Architecture.
